Launch Box Kit - Metatron's Cube Laser Etch

Metatron's Cube is a highly geometric aspect of the Flower of Life that was first discovered by a medieval Italian mathematician. The figure, Metatron, is the ultimate communicator between humans and the divine in a variety of apocryphal texts, and many believe his cube to contain sacred geometry that will allow us to understand every living being. The cube contains the five three-dimensional “Platonic solids”, which represent the five elements: earth, air, fire, water, and ether. Not only do these shapes each fit perfectly inside a sphere with identical faces, edges and angles, their forms have been proven as the basis of the entire periodic table of elements.

Within the complex shape, one can see a hexagram, known as a symbol of duality, and a star tetrahedron, which represents the energy field around each of our bodies. Metatron's Cube also reveals a hexagon, a shape found in naturally-occurring phenomena such as honeycombs and flowers, implying that there is a mysterious universal order. Being the ardent artisans and sci-fi geeks that we are, we keep our workshops filled with concepts, sketches and prototypes. These potential products range from rational to just plain nutty, and all the evolutionary steps in between. Only the best inventions actually escape our secret dens to see the light of day.

Spock sacrificed himself for his crew and was launched into outer space in an escape pod to be reborn and live another day. Such is the case with our Stash Box, the newest addition to the Artisan Collection. We all agreed it was high time we came out with one of our own, so the question arose as to what it would look like and how it would best function. Many friendly debates ensued and many prototypes were created. Only one made it out!

Introducing the Escape Pod, straight from the depths of our Industrial Design and Engineering lair. Every Escape Pod Stash Box is a one-of-a-kind creation, equipped with magnetized sliding lids to safely and discreetly store your goods. In addition, each Escape Pod now features a removable partition to easily switch back and forth between one chamber and two. The inside dimensions are designed to perfectly fit our Finishing Grinder, while the outside dimensions are the same as the Launch Box, creating a seamless and tidy transfer of your herbal material. Lovingly assembled from Maple, Cherry, Walnut, and Bamboo, these pocket-sized storage units are the perfect accessory for any Magic-Flight enthusiast.

Delta Stash Box

“No man ever steps in the same river twice.” ~ Heraclitus

The only thing constant is change. Just like water rushing by, every second of our being is slightly different from its predecessor, and because this change is so gradual, there are times when we don't even notice it as it happens. The pre-Socratic Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, is famous for his insistence on this matter, and his teachings of ever-present change have contributed to the foundations of modern philosophy, psychology, and various sciences. Take, for instance, how our knowledge of constant change has influenced astronomy. In the vast universe, where time appears to stand still as we gaze at the stars, change is present, yet on a much grander scale that is impossible to see with the naked eye. The light that we perceive at the moment is actually millions of years old, and the stars and galaxies at which we we are gazing are presently quite different, if even still in existence at all.

Much like with stars, constant change is present in everything we make here at Magic-Flight – in both the products and the machines that help create them. Each final product rarely resembles original prototypes, and most customers never see what changes the products go through in order to create pieces that are the most favorable in terms of functionality and aesthetics. Therefore, we feel compelled to tell their stories and enlighten those who have expressed interest in our creative processes.

The most recent story is that of our new Delta Box, which went through numerous changes from drawing board to final product. The Delta Box's prototype was originally designed in 3-D, and 3-D printed in plastic. Shape and scale were then adjusted for function and aesthetics. Next, laser-cut wood panels were added, as well as magnets to hold it closed. Soon after, holes were added in the side for portioned distribution of herbal materials. Then, as with most of our products, we considered how much more amazing the Delta Box would be if it were made entirely of wood. So began the next phase: turning it from various types of solid wood on a CNC lathe which was built in-house. We layered maple, cherry, walnut, mahogany, purple heart, and many others, creating several beautiful designs. But, as The Highlander would say, there can be only one. As much as we loved all of the evolutionary samples, we ultimately concluded that walnut would be best for the Delta Box.

The final product is a sleek and solid triangular box that fits comfortably in your hand, with a low profile to keep in your pocket, and magnets to keep it shut tight. The Delta Box also takes spill-free transfer of herbal materials to a whole new level, as its bowl fits snug with our Finishing Grinder, and the holes on the side allow you to dispense herbs into your Launch Box without having to open the stash box entirely. Furthermore, as discretion is a frequent motivator in creating many of our products, we are especially proud that, at first glance, it is a bit of a mystery as to what the Delta Box even is. Its twist-to-open feature gives it the illusion of being little more than a puzzle box, thus allowing you to carry it around with less concern over being conspicuous.
