SAP is the CO2 version of a butane Shatter. But not as stable as a product made with butane, methane, or propane. This is a pure oil reduction that we leave the waxes alone and remove all H20 and as many other materials we can to increase the potency to the highest level possible. Usually in the high 60% to low 70%.
What is the difference between SAP and Shatter?
Because CO2 is not as harsh of a solvent as butane, methane, or propane, the molecular makeup of the cannabis oil is not
hydrogenated, which allows it to become brittle. While the tests may show that there is no residual solvents in some products, the lasting hydrogenation effect in shatters is – forever.
An example comparison can be butter and margarine – margarine is hydrogenated corn oil.
